Wheel/Tire Setup G37x coupe

Hi guys I'm new to this forum...I just bought a new q60 AWD (G37x).
I've read multiple forums about how it is not wise to run a staggered setup with an AWD model.
That being said, the OEM setup is 225/50/18. Would I be safe running let's say 225/35/19 or maybe even a 20" with the same tire width/aspect ratio on all 4? And if so, how wide do you think I could go on all 4 tires with out it looking distorted up front??
I'd appreciate any input guys, thanks!

Welcome to the site Alex!
There's a lot of guys running staggered sets on their AWDs, but to keep it simple w/ no room for error it never hurts to run squared
If you plan to lower your Q then 20s will look good, but if you keep it at stock height I'd go no larger than 19s. If you want to run wider tires you can get a squared 9.5" set and run 265/35/19s on all 4 corners, just need to get the proper offset to keep them inside the fenders, an offset of +30 on 9.5" rims will be a nice fit
check reply #9 in this thread for a great coupe fit

Thank you so much for the feedback!
Yes I am definitely going to be lowering the height and probably going with an aftermarket coilover set up. I have a list of things I plan on getting done to my car soon. I'm taking it to a high end performance shop a little ways out from where I live to get the following done...
1. Wheel/Tire setup (probably going to play it safe and run all 4 same size) Probably Vossen or Avant Garde
2. Brembo kit upgrade (Yellow Calipers)
3. HKS Exhaust System
4. Injen Air Intake
5. 35% window tint (darkest MA allows)
6. Blacked out Grille/Smoked Tailights
7. KW Coilover kit
8. Matte Blue Metallic paint job (icing on the cake!)

Sounds pretty nice. Post some before and progress pics. Also thanks for posting that question; been wondering what wheel setup would be safest on my X.

Will definitely post progress pics! Making to play it safe and run same size all around for wheels/tires...plan on keeping the car for a long time.

Any one recommend a certain UHP A/S tire? Not a fan of the Dunlop oem tires and they're way overpriced...

Unfortunately KW doesn't make AWD coilovers, your best bet would be the Fortune 500s, they've only been out a short time but have been getting good reviews, not 100% sure they fit the coupe since it was a Sedan group buy a while back that got the ball rolling.
I'd contact Luke at THMotorsports to confirm fitment. Also whenever considering a Big Brake kit be certain the front wheels will clear the big calipers. Here's the THMotorports initial Fortune 500 thread~

One other thing, if you get decent time in warm weather you might consider using your stock wheel setup for winter tires and get some nice summer tires for the rest of the year to go w/ your new wheels, this will make your G much more performance oriented for most of the year and the crappy mushy/freezing weather won't ding-up your new wheels. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the advice man. Will look into the AWD coilover selection carefully now that you mentioned it. I'll probably wear out the stock brakes before upgrading them and just painting calipers...but wouldn't a 20" wheel have enough room to accommodate slightly larger brakes?
And that would be nice but unfortunately I live in New England so it's not worth it to switch over from summer to winter...I'd be happy using a year round performance tire like the pilot sport a/s 3...

Also, my cars stock color is graphite (Gray) it's alright but I'd definitely want to get a new pain job after all is said and done...any one know what prices range for a matte paint job?

Most 20" wheels will clear the big brakes, but many cast wheels have extra thick spokes (since more material is req'd for support in cast wheels) that reduce the clearance quite a bit. Just something you need to verify prior to ordering.
You might want to consider a vinyl wrap if you want to change up the color, 100s of colors & finishes available, and then when it's time to trade in you just peel it off.

Ahh I see...I'll have to see what the guys over at the shop recommend for wheeks then. And I've been wondering about the wrapping jobs...my issue with them is not knowing how well they hold up, if they're durable and last long? Do they hold up fine in the winter? If so then if highly consider vinyl wrapping it!

Also I looked at the Fortune 500 Coilover setup, they offer universal lowering springs that would fit the g37x coupe...I'm wondering whether or not it's worth it just to get the springs to lower the height vs doing a whole coilover setup..any thoughts?

Springs will get rid of the fender gap and if you go w/ a mild drop the ride shouldn't be too harsh. If you have the budget for coils that's the best way to lower exactly what you want and be able to adjust the ride to your liking.

As far as wraps, the latest vinyl wrap material is very durable and comes in countless variations in color & finish. I'd take a visit to a shop that has a good reputation and ask to see their work & all the colors/finishes available.

Thanks man I appreciate the advice. I took it over to a good shop today and spoke with the owner. Nice guy, great work at reasonable prices.

As far as exhaust goes, are there certain exhaust for only AWD models or can I fit same as regular rwd?
