Spare Tire PSI?

I'm getting a wheel repaired and temporarily on the spare. Anyone know what PSI it should be at? The tire reads 60PSI, but if it's anything like the OEM wheels it shouldn't actually be inflated to that level should it?

It should be 60psi, there's a sticker on the lower driver side door well that lists all the recommended pressures.

That's what the owner's manual says as well. What threw me for a loop is that that's the max tire pressure listed on the tire, and I thought you were never supposed to fill to max PSI :S...

It's a donut not a regular road tire so it's different. Inflate to 60. Also, use it for the shortest time possible. It's only designed to get you to safety or a short distance home or to a shop, not for regular daily use. It can wear the tread down very quickly if you're driving on it daily.

Not driving it daily. I should have my wheel back Friday and don't plan on putting more than 100km on it, possibly less that 60km actually.

You'll be alright. Just keep it slow. The donut really does affect the way the car handles.
