Ho Hum, Another G with wheels thread..

So, I finally got to my mods after being unemployed for what seemed like forever. Anyway this is the result which I am happy with from a looks perspective. Performance is another issue.

My car is an X with Swifts and the 19 x 9 inch Infiniti Conv 30mm offset wheels x 4. Literally I got the last set around after much effort and persistence.

Overall it is really the look I was hoping for and is so much more aggressive looking over the 4 x 4 with duck feet. It's aggressive yet to me maintains the classiness the car deserves. It is just clean and well fitted like me in suit

But I digress.. on to pics... Thoughts and questions welcome.

Looks pretty good! Have you thought about blacking out the window trim?

What size tire are you running, and what don't you like about the performance?

Nah, not going crazy with some of the other aesthetics. I am happy with adding the wheels for now.

Tires are square since I am an X. 245/40/19's fitted to the 9 inch rims.

As for the feel of the swifts mated to the stock Oem suspension:

There is a rakish look, which I like, however it is pretty significant vs. oem. The front shocks are virtually out of (rebound)travel due to the loss in height. The bumps shall we say are quite unnerving and it feels from the front suspension as if they won't be long in blowing out. I hope I'm wrong as there doesn't seem to be a suitable replacement to accommodate the spring height.

**Don't think I would want to go coilovers either due to harshness.

On smooth roads she feels just fine though. I will say the Continental sidewalls do provide more cushion than the oem Dunlops I was rocking.

Ouch 1500 bucks in that thread..

Only other option is the tokico blues which are similar or slightly better than stocks.

Lookin' Good!

Are you planning to tint your windows...if yes, a 40-45% tint will go well.
Also consider rear taillight overlays...either Andy (bluebatmobile) or Rob @ SunStoppers in Stoughton, MA.

Thanks man.. Yeah John Did a good job!
He was mentioning about the fronts how hard they were to compress and how he had to compress from the top to the bottom of the spring opposed to using the compressor from 3/4's as with other types of springs.

Not sure on any other exterior mods yet. Most likely a front sport lip. Not going to go too crazy, probably revisit that thought after winter for bbk upgrade. I just installed all four corners with new rotors and pads myself which was not fun.

Ah, Any improvement in ride quality and or rebound? Is yours an X sedan?

KYB was what I was thinking of, I mentioned tokico's for some reason.

I assume I will be needing an alignment. Just hope I don't require a camber kit.

The other thing, where can I go that doesn't use the clamps which attach to the rim? I don't want them to get damaged in the process.

Definitely an improvement yes.i have an X sedan also or I would have gone Koni yellow. My guys originally didn't reinstall the bumpstops since they're in the "boot cover" (dunno what else to call it) once they went back on it got significantly better. The KYBs also come with "jounce stops" we didn't use them but I'm not sure they're really needed now.

I went to Firestone and got the lifetime alignment. Seems to be worth it, I've had it aligned three times now for the single cost. At the same time one of the techs there really knows his stuff so I make sure it gets on his hook whenever I go.

Most tire shops now use the stick on weights, I'd just call first to make sure.

I highly doubt you'll need a camber & toe kit. Your ride height, flush fitment, and OEM wheels unique to the Sedan... looks perfect to me. Nice attention to details without announcing to the world that you modified the car. Well done.

AWD Swift Springs always seem to end up with the ideal drop. RWD Swift Springs not so much, in that they sag a little bit in the rear compared to the front.
