Vossen CV3 Help

So I will be buying a G37X within the next 2-3 weeks. I would like to have my wheels picked out by then as I want to get them on before winter. I would like the CV3 20" and I am assuming the width of 10.5". I will probably want to lower it an inch or so after I get these wheels as well. I want to be able to remove the wheels for winter and so stock rims / tires will need to fit. I am assuming that I will need coilovers for this because I will need to be able to lift the car in the winter. I also want as close to a stock ride as possible, and have looked at the KW V3's for this it seems they can be adjusted all around.

My question is which exact size of the CV3 should I go with for this application? I want to be able to keep the car as close to stock as possible as I will probably sell this car in 2 years. Any ideas for me? Anything else I need to ask myself?

Welcome to the site. Check this thread for squared setups, MylilG and Tbulsara have wide, aggressive setups and I think both are on coils. Keep in mind coils usually drop pretty low in the back, even at the highest settings, I believe KWs sell spring extenders so you may need them if you want to get it close to stock height for the winter.

Nice, thanks. It looks like that thread has cars almost exactly as I envision mine looking at least. Great start. Let me ask this, how much drop do you think I can have and still fit factory wheels/tires on for the winter? Do you think coilovers will allow factory wheels/tires to fit? KW coilovers specifically? Also, what if I want to throw a BBK in the mix in a few months? How do I consider that? Looking on ideas for the specifications needed for the vossen wheels and the new tires.

Not sure exactly what you mean regarding the stock wheels/tires. They'll fit much easier than the wider Vossens. As far as clearing BBK, a good source for anything Vossen would be Diego@Vossen, just send him a PM with the setup you want and he can get you exactly what you're after and knows if they'll clear big brakes. The stock wheels won't clear the BBK though so you'd need winter wheels that will clear. I think the G37XS sedans have the 18" wheels that will clear the BBK, not 100% sure but pretty sure
And the G37XS coupes DO come w/ the big brakes so if you go that route you're already there.

Sorry, I still have no idea what I am talking about, 33 years old and this will be my first car with aftermarket wheels, and heck first car over 10k. I thought that if i lowered the car it would be hard to fit a stock tire that is much thicker than the very low profile tires i would put on with vossens. I was not even thinking about the width of the tire, just the height. Yes, I will message Diego becuase I think I need extreme help as all of this is brand new to me.

That's no problem, we've all been there and at least you're aware of what you don't know
Whenever you go to a larger diameter rim you get lower profile tires to keep the overall outside diameter similar to your stock tire diameter. If you get a 20" rim and you currently have 18" rims your inside tire diameter is 2" larger so your sidewall gets 1" narrower (an inch on each side). Hope that makes sense. Here's a great tire calculator that you can mess with for various wheel & tire sizes, it helps to clear things up in your head.
