What Method of Painting Rims is Superior

I currently have 20 inch blue axis zero rims which I am looking to paint gunmetal or graphite. My question is what kind of painting method is superior? I have heard much talk about powder coating which I am leaning towards at this point (with no real knowledge about it) I know people also spray paint them or anodize their rims. I need some input on which method you guys would choose and any other pointers you guys can offer. I live in Southern California so if you guys know any local shops you can refer me to that would also be great. Thank you in advance guys!

I'd recommend power coating. It has a more heat tolerance than paint.

Powdercoating results in a very hard shell finish, as long as your wheels are in good condition I'd go w/ powdercoating. If your wheels require some "bodywork" to get in proper condition, painting may be preferred as powdercoating requires a solid metal surface to get a good bond.
Painted wheels are more prone to getting nicked and are easier to scratch, powdercoating is brittle so if you do happen to get some damage it may come off in bigger chunks FWIW.

I spray painted my rims in which they turned out pretty damn good, but I will eventually get them powder coated. I used Rustoleum Hyper silver wheel coating, so its a stock look which is definitely a good thing regardless!

Powder coat. Like newt said, they have to be structurally sound since the wheels are baked up to 400F. If they have filling compounds, the PC will not stick to the parts that are not metal. The shell that is created is much more durable and will not succumb to small nicks like paint will.
