Angry Bridgestone tire re760

I purchased the set summer tires and I barely got 5k miles on them. They're bald!!!

Is that normal?! I had the previous sets last me well over 9k, I don't even drive hard and for them to wear out during the winter when it's cold outside throws me off.

The only difference I did this time was put nitrogen in the wheels, but that should keep keep the tires cooler. I out them on end of October and just realized couple weeks ago that the tread is gone. I been riding my CBR for now..

I'm looking for other summer tires. Now and I'm gearing towards the nitto 555, any recommendations?

That is deeply unusual. I would check and see if they have a warranty. Have you been doing track days, or drifting?

It might be camber wear, or indication your alignment is way out of whack. Nothing chews up a tire faster than improper Toe alignment.

No not all no drifting no track. Daily commute to work which is like 5 miles away. I contacted Bridgestone to see if there was a recall cuz they should keep track of bad batches but they informed me that was not the case. I Contacted the place to see what they can do and make a tire condition report. I'm still waiting for on them to call me back.

The alignment was done just before. And the toes are In spec, it's not worn out for the Insides or outer sides. It's bald all the way through evenly.

You only got 9k on your previous tires and 5k on these? Assuming both sets were the same tire I would definitely try a different tire, especially if you're not driving hard. Toyo T1Sports should do well, expect 20k from them, great dry & wet grip and for the money they're a nice deal.

I have ran the re760 sport for 2 summers (april - oct) and 2014 will be my 3rd summer. I put about 6500 miles each summer and still have about half the tread left. I havent had any issues with the re760 other than a nail problem.
I live in philly so temperatures might not get as high as Cali. Your tires could literally be melting away.

You should get around 20k out of a set of good summer times provided the alignment is sound and standard driving habits. I'd recommend buying the next set from Discount Tire as they price match and provide warranty service with minimal hassle.

I have the RE760's and I get about 18K-20K miles out of them. I drive them really hard, like tire squealing on u-turns and freeway on-ramps. Car is not lowered, and well within alignment, so you 5K life is definitely not normal...My drift car gets better tire life than that, even with a heavy toe-in.

maybe your tire pressure is abnormally low?

I've got about 30K miles on my 760's and should be able to get another summer out of them.

I have been using 760's on my Honda S2000 for the past 5 years. The rear's last to
15K. At that time they were down to 5/32nds, which is well within the legal limit, but on a rear wheel drive car, it's time to get them off. The fronts last to over 25K. Typically you run two sets of rears to one set of fronts.

yeah that's what i've noticed the front still have alot of life left.
i was able to make a claim with Bridgestone and with the help of my homie who runs a good year shop, Bridgestone is accepting a claim. I'll be getting half off my next set but the problem is i have to go with their brand, so i think i'm going to settle for the alternative Potenza RE970 A/S, longer lasting.. its a win lose?

340 A A that number is what gives the tires life. 340 is about 30K miles or more. Also what load rating is the tires? remember when you're buying tires you have to make sure you are getting the correct load or the tires will not last.

There are a lot of factor's that go into buying tires! make sure you do your home work and also learn what all the specs are and what the number's mean on the sidewall!

That's a shorter life than usual. PSI, alignment, rotation, and driving style can all help promote or speed up wear. I would start with an alignment check.

Well the tires wore out evenly and I had an alignment like 8 months ago now. I havnt gone over any crazy pot holes.

I went with 245/40 on the front and 275/35 rear. It actually feels smoother, but it can be that they're new too.
