Someone stole rims and tires off my 2013 g37!!!

Attention fellow g37 owners, I have created this account to inform and warn you all of wheel thieving going around. It is becoming quite common since the beginning of 2014 in my area. I woke up to the maintenance men in my apartment complex knocking on my door. Upon opening the door I was struck with heartbreaking news that the wheels on my vehicle were missing!!(tear tear, sniff sniff) and there she was sitting on cinder blocks looking graceful still without her shoes. Still Wtf. Anyway it will cost approximately 7 grand to replace. Luckily I have insurance but sadly its quite a headache and hassle and about a grand out of my pocket. As of now I will be securing my wheels with wheel locks. I hope I was of some help to some of you. Thank you all, have a good day.

And also, I am carless for the coming week, possibly weeks. Even after my car is fixed and healed, my heart will never:'(

$7K is extremely high to replace OEM wheels and tires. You can get them for probably about half that much. And yes, if you were to look back through old threads you'd see this has been happening to G37s for years, it's not a new thing. Sorry for your loss.

sorry to hear, have you contacted the police?

I've started leaving my car in the garage at work, and only picking up my car on the weekends for this exact reason. Its a shame, but unfortunately you can't even trust parking your car on the street anymore.

Good to hear your insurance covered it though.

Wtf $7000?? I have a 2012 with the "newer" enkei sport rims etc and I have seen many sets for sale at around $2300 with tires pretty much perfect condition (tires would say 70-80%) threat.

What the hell accounts for the extra $4-5k???

Come on, guys. Wheels locks are a must if you park on the street... especially with a car with such a common fitting.

It doesn't guarantee anything but it may slow a thief down enough to save your wheels.

Sorry about your loss, Bro!

Umm insurance doesn't give you used stuff off a forum. They call the dealer or have their software and just look up retail and cut you a check. Wife's c300 tire is over $300 from merc. Its $120 shipped from tire rack. Wheels get "stolen" a lot because insurance pays big!! Notice I said "stolen".

I just had a claim for a crash. $4144. Insurance is going up $38 a month for 3 years. To me that's $2776 back in my pocket paying for insurance all those years with nothing bad happening. They owe me

That really hurts. Sorry to hear about your lose.
I picked up some wheel locks today with my Rear Spoiler from the Stealership.
Even if they have to work at it a little, it might make them move on to an easier target.
