Just out of curious how many people check their spare tire. I check my regular tires pretty often but have never checked any spare tire in any of my vehicle. I decided to pull it out today to see what it was sitting at.

Took it out, looked normal and inflated.



And it was sitting at a whooping 7.5psi

 

Define regularly? I do check it regularly because it does leak down, but not as regularly as I should. It should be no less frequent than every month. I do it at every oil change while I'm waiting for the oil to drain.

 

I check it everytime I get a flat. Does that count? Haha

 

Nope, I don't even remember the last time I checked it.

 

Never gave it much though until I checked it back in 2011 and it was about like the OPs, down around 7 or 8 psi, now I check it every time I rotate my tires.

but if I did I dont think I'd be able to use it considering how low my car is -__-

 

I've inflated it once in 2.5 years of ownership. Pressure was ~7psi. Luckily, I was at a gas station... Unfortunately the only reason I checked the pressure was that as I was walking back to my car, I noticed a nail in my rear driver's side tire. I cried a little, tire was fairly new, I wanted to go home (~100km away on the highway) and I was tired. The drive home was slow......

 

I'd say once every 3-6 months sounds reasonably regular to me.
