took awhile but merchants just received the new wheels they ordered me. Glad they decided to resolve this issue the correct way.

 

Were there scratches in the wheel's finish, or damage to the metal (deep gouges)? I'm surprised they ordered new wheels and did not try to hire a parking lot-used car specialist to respray them.

 

I have had an 08 Sport G37 since new, and wait for it ...... including the original set of 4 wheels I have had a total of 13 wheels on the car. I now have 60,000 miles completed and have come to the conclusion that the wheels are very very hard to work with. The edge of the rim is very prominent and seems to get damaged so easily. I finally found a tire that lasts 30,000 miles (General -- from tire rack) and thankfully have not had to go to get the tires changed for over a year. Re finishing the whole wheel is the only real way to get a good finish that does not peel or show in varied light situations.
Finding a good installer with new equipment is very difficult. So I would say it seems to be par for the course in maintaining this car. Once these tires wear out i am trading my G in so it is no longer a headache for me.
