New G37X owner and RIM question

Afternoon!!

I just picked up a very low mileage 09 G37X Sedan from a family member, and had some questions about Rims. IMHO, the factory 17's just look way too small for the car. I did some searches and there is some confusion about running staggered rims on the X models. Some say yes, others say no. IIRC, the G37xS HAS staggered rims from the factory.

Looking for some clarification. (I did search!)

I came from the Mazda 6 forums, as I had a modded 6.

1. No the xS does not have OEM staggered setup, it is square even though the wheels may look the same.
2. Yes, you can run a staggered setup if the front and rear are within 3% rolling circumference ? of each other or the AWD system freaks out.

Seems there's even been a few that have had problems if the diameters are greater than +/- 1% once the speeds get over 80mph. If you do decide to go staggered be sure to post in the tire & brake section with the wheels sizes you're wanting and we can get you dialed in on the best tire sizes for AWDs. The best tire sizes for compatibility seem to be 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 if you go w/ 19" rims, this gets you real close to OEM diameter and are very close Front to back in diameter as well.

I have a 09 xs sedan also and I'm running 19in coupe sport wheels which are staggered. I decided to just run 240/45x19 tires front and rear which I had read several members are doing. I checked with Tire Rack and they said I would not have problems this way. Just another option.

I think you meant 245/40/19, either that or Tirerack has some new funky sizes.
