Must be a lower model, definitely won't find Michelin Pilot SS for $850.

I'm currently looking for tires too. The potenzas are almost a $80 cheaper on tire rack than the dealer and discount tire will match anyone's price. Money no object would be Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Hankook Ventus V12 has awesome wet and dry handling and is a lot cheaper. Look at this test on Car and Driver. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...-p-zero-page-2

Nice, thanks. And you don't need to change Rims since your just increasing width, right?

I personally have Falken 452s on my car but if you want a more aggressive looking tire check out the Falken Azenis.
Cool, have a link? I'll check them out.

I got Michelin SS for 1100 shipped from tire rack plus a 70 or 80 gift card last year. Best tire I have ever used PERIOD. I've had tires that cost 30-40% more and they out perform them. I'd recommend them easily. They're so good that I'm actually in the market to replace my brand new Perelli's on my S4 with these.

Thanks again. I've heard that COSTCO won’t put non-stock sized tires on, anyone know if that is true. And I'm still trying to confirm that if I upsize to Get 245/40/19 in the front and 275/35/19 in the back I use the same rims.

Anyone have this size on their car with pictures? I'd love to see what it looks like.

Hey all, sorry for necro’ing this thread, but I got deployed overseas for a year and a half and didn’t need the tires at the time. I’m going home next week and I still have my G37 so I figured I should get this tire thing sorted out. I‘ve decided to g with the larger set (245/275). I’m down to two options, the Hankook Ventis v12 and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Checking on TR.com it looks like I can get the HV for $880 while the Pilot SS ate $1142. I’m not too worried about $250 DIFFERENCE, MY QUESTION IS ARE Pilot SS really that much better?

Thanks

(p.s. is there a major difference between Hankook Ventis V12 evo K110 vs evo2?)

I know Hankook Ventus v12 evo2 is basically 95% of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 performance for close to half the price (PS2 are $1428). Now how good are cheaper newer version of PS2 - Michelin Pilot Super Sport - is hard to tell, maybe someone will shed the light on this question but they are still $250 more than evo2.

Also Michelin owns Hankook so I think they are basically the same tires, with Hankooks being less expensive as they save money by manufacturing in Korea rather than Europe.

I've personally went with Hankooks and they perform superbly on my 600whp twin turbo car, just put on a brand new set of Evo2s.

Also be a good time to go a bit wider w/ your tires, a 245/275 combo is a popular setup.
And like Bluestick mentioned, avoid the dealer for tire deals, you'll get more tire for less money elsewhere. It may be worth calling around, I usually get my tires online and have a local reputable shop do the mounting/balancing, still save a decent amount of cash that way.

What he said.

I have them.

Excellent tire

Never buy cheap when it comes to brakes and tires.
Your life depends upon them
I purchased mine at the dealer including alignment and balancing and it did not cost me that much.
Order your tires from the parts department, After they arrive then get a price from service for installation.
Going direct to service asking about tires usually adds additional markup to the price of tires.

Here's a review of summer tires, Michelin PS2 was used as benchmark. Hankook Ventus V12 evo was in 2nd place, newer evo2s are even better:

I'm on the market for some 275 tires also. My choices are Michelin PSS, falken 452, nitto 555 and Nitto nt05 on tirerack.com and tire buyer.com. I don't go faster than 50mph on any given day and don't drive more than 5-8 miles per day. Summer all year around hence y my choices are what they are.

I just put a pair of these on the front sine my rear stock tires (Potenza RE050s) still have plenty of tread left. I believe the tread depth on the RE760s is significantly more than the stock RE050s. The only downside that I could tell right away is that the rim guard lip doesn't stick out quite far enough to actually protect the stock rims, hopefully I won't be curbing them anyway so this isn't too great of an issue. I plan to get the matching rear ones when the OEM tires finally wear out.

I run 760's on my Honda S2000. They have long life and work well with the S. I just installed Yokohama's on the G. They provide me with all of the traction that I need.
