45 good luck. as long as the wheels you're replacing are not stager, it should be ok. The X system I was told by my dealer are very sensitive. I wouldn't want to mess with the safety of the car in exchange for look.

You'll be Ok if your new tires are within +/- 3% of the OEM X tires.

You can go bigger even if you, an OEM option is available in this too.

18x7.5 with 225/50R18

im going with 225/45/19 tires and coupe wheels are 19x8.5 front 19x9 rear. seems i will still be under the 3 % diameter range so not a big difference. what you guys thinks?

as per tie calculator:
Diameter Difference: 0.86%

You'll be fine, I'd go with a bit wider in the rear though (245s up to 275s), should be able to find another size for the rear that will be within 3% of the front.

I see you got the help you needed so I will leave it at that.
I just came here to remind folks that your OEM wheel sizes, including the offsets, are in the Owners Manual. Cheers

bl thanks buddy you always chime in... i mean i would like that but if i do that and get them wider in rear and still within 3% difference wouldent i be deviating from factory size over the 3% if i do this... in other words i understand 225 front and 245 rear is withing the 3% but once i got 245 in rear then it would go over 3% difference since factory wheel is 225/55/17

The X system won't like the staggered setup.

I understand being nervous about going staggered w/ an X, but many have done it without any problems. As long as the vehicle see all 4 tires diameter as essentially the same there won't be a problem, and as long as your new tires are within 3% of the OEMs diameter.
using the G37 tire calculator you can go 265/35/19 for a -1.6% from OEM and a
245/40/19 front w/ a -.1% difference from OEM and the front & rear tires would be 1.5% different from each other, will work fine w/ your X.
Just to give you an example

youre right with the % difference...the 35 profile sounds too thin my only concern dont want harsh ride looking for more comfortability so i think 45 profile might be better for me since provides more cushion. what do you think

I had the same question when i was looking for new wheels for my g37x. a lot of people state that you can't stagger the AWD system, however, a lot of people run wider rears with no issues including myself. Like everyone states keep the two close and you wont have any issues. I run staggered coupe wheels and 245/40r/19 on all wheels, no problems at all. Good luck with your choice.

The widest you can run w/ a 45 sidewall and still be within OEM diameter would be 235/45/19, pretty narrow tire for those 9" rims. Here's a post from another X w/ coupe wheels, maybe he can send you some pics of his X setup.

Hey bl so you think 225/45/19 is too narrow for coupe rims? I'm saying 45 profile because is thicker sidewall thus providing more comfort ability u don't think 35 profile too thin closer to concrete causing a harsher ride?
