225s are too narrow for these cars IME, especially for the rears. Putting out 326hp you really want to have wider tires to keep the power on the ground. If it's primarily about comfort I'd just keep your stock wheels/tires. If you want to get the most out of your G and sacrifice comfort for performance & looks go w/ your coupe wheels and the tire sizes in the post I linked. I think you'll be very happy w/ the nice looking wheels and wider stance, and the connection to the road. But that's my taste & opinion
Your Gs just waiting to kick some tail, but those dinky tires won't let you

Keep in mind the wider you go in tread the smaller the side profile # will be, but the side profile # is a percentage of sidewall height to tread width. So in short, a 45 sidewall may be just as high as a 40 sidewall if the tire is wide enough. My 245/35/20s have the same sidewall height as my 295/30/20s.
Hope that makes sense.

Exactly what blnewt said...

Example: 225/50/18 and 245/45/18 are almost identical in tire height.

bl thanks all feedback...now what is what determines comfortability is it the profile of tire or width? in other words what provides the cushion the wall of tire or width I was under Impression profile is...im from new york so potholes are a must out here and from experience my 245/35/19's feel harsh and can feel every last bump and pothole

Going to larger rims w/ the resulting lower profile sidewalls will be the biggest culprit in a rougher ride, just less rubber to absorb the shock. Tire construction can play a part as well. UHP summer tires w/ stiffer sidewalls give a firmer ride. Lowering springs w/ limited travel and stiffer spring rates will take the roughness up a few more notches.
If you know anyone w/ 19s or 20s maybe you can go for a ride and see firsthand if the comfort level is acceptable. I'm on 20s w/ 35 & 30 series sidewalls and I like the firmer ride and the look of larger rims w/ low profile tires, but everyone's got different tastes & how they want a car to "feel".
Good Luck w/ whatever you decide, but again, I would go wider than 225s on your G

IMO 225s are too narrow for a 9" rim, sure you can do it, but a 245 would be much better for traction, road holding, cornering, etc. I bought my G to drive and enjoy all it has to offer. Putting 225s on those nice large wheels you're kind of short changing yourself, but it's your car and comfort seems to be your priority so enjoy the drive

decided to go with 245/40/19 -.1 difference in circumference and diameter. almost perfect fit and for tires thinking about either ContinentalExtremeContact DWS(Ultra High Performance All-Season) or BridgestoneTuranza Serenity Plus(Grand Touring All-Season) I live in mostly cold weather all yr around and need comfortable tires but for all weather too.

Now that's more like it
Nice size choice IMO, I've been running All Seasons for several years now. Just put Toyo Proxes4 Plus on my G a few months ago and have been very happy so far, great dry grip and stable and controlled in the rain. Haven't had snow around here so can't comment on that. If you wnat to check them out be sure to give Treadepot.com a shot, they're a vendor here and ask for Andrew, he gives even better prices if you mention you're a member here. Here's a couple links

A pretty detailed review, it's about a 5 page review so be sure to hit next page as you go

I'd suggest adding the Michelin Primacy MXM4 to your list.. read the reviews on TireRack.. I had a set on my 09 G37x and they were so good I decided to get the same again.. fyi my son has the Bridgestone's on his car and they are very smooth and quiet but not as good in the snow as the Michelins. The Conti's are good but noisier than the MIchelins and don't wear as well.

I had the Michelin Primacy MXM4s on my 2002 SVT Focus. They were down to 4/32" (almost shot) after 18k miles. They ride and handle great, but below half tread they're useless in the snow.
