OEM wheels scratch easily?

Not sure if this is the right section but I noticed in the last year or so my OEM wheels, which have been flawless, are getting a substantial amount of rash and scratches on the spokes all over the front set. Some as deep as 3/4 inch long.
I have not parked at any curbs at all. Is the coating on the OEM's very light or prone to this?
I was washing the car today and noticed that there always seem to be a new one every couple weeks.
Can this be the result of just random rocks on the highway possibly bouncing off the wheels?

Considering that I somehow have a 1/5" chip in my sport rims I would venture to say yes, but probably no more than most other rims.

all wheels are subject to tons of road debris

little rocks, pieces of glass, and whatever else all all over the road.

It depends entirely on the roads you drive on. For example, out in the Midwest they use a lot of crushed granite in their roads. Whereas over here in the Northeast they use a lot of dolomite.

Whatever you're experiencing, it's not a quality issue endemic of the wheels used by Nissan.

My dad has an 08 sedan and he was using some wheel cleaner when washing his wheels and noticed the first layer coming off.

I just use soap and water and hoping that I will not have any issues.
