Tire Recommendations?

I just had my 2010 G37xS inspected this morning and they measured the tires at 4/32's on the rear and 5/32's on the front so it is getting close to time for new tires, especially with winter approaching.

I will probably see how the car does with the first snowfall before ordering anything, but I want to start my research now and keep an eye out for good deals. Anyway, I am looking to stick with the stock size, so 225/50/18 and want a tire that can do well year round. I live in Upstate NY so we get a decent amount of snow at times so the tires probably have to be all seasons.

Recommendations?

On the more comfort/longevity/touring side I'd check out Michelins Primacy MXM4. For a more sport based option look to Conti's DWS. Those are a very popular tire amongst the G crowd.

Awesome, I will take a look at those two tires. What about the General G-Max AS-03?

General isn't a bad tire for light snow climates. Average in wet and ok in snow but not as good as the others. Not the best option for upstate NY and the winters you can get.

Looking for a new set of all-season tires for my '09 G37xS. Stock size. Needs to be able to handle Chicago winters. Neal and everyone else- what are your thoughts and recommendations? I've been driving the stock Dunlops that came with it new in 2009.

The DWS would be a great tire for your area, especially with an X. Of the sport based all season tires that has the best a/s ability of the bunch. On the touring side I would look at Michelin's Primacy MXM4. Little longer lasting and better riding compared to the DWS.
