If you want summer performance tires, Super Sports are the way to go. Read the reviews.

I have the Avid Envigors, and I regret having got them. They have about 12,500 miles on them and I am in the process of getting the Michellins. My Yokohamas are extremely noisy and have pretty bad chop on the inside of the tire, which required me to have the wheels dismounted and switched sides. This really hasn't helped at all. If anything, it has actually made the problem worse. Save yourself the aggravation and get a better tire.

So yesterday I got the Michellin Pilot Super Sports. In the day I have had them they are SIGNIFICANTLY better than any tire I have had on this car so far. They are much more comfortable to drive than the yokohamas, have better traction, and because they are new make almost no noise. While I know they will get louder with age, there is no way they can be as noisy as the Yokohamas. If you go this way, this is a choice you won't regret.

The SS and Envigor are as similar as a for Ford Taurus and a Porsche. If the OP is in NY, you wouldn't want the SS unless you have a set of dedicated snows for the winter. If you liked the Yokos, and many do, then I'd stick with them. As an alternate, look at the Conti DWS or Kumho 4X.

Call me when ready!
