Nooby tire question.

Alright I'm Looking for a new set of rear tires. I'm Surely looking for wider tires this time, like 275+. The number that I'm not sure of is this. If the tire stats are 275/(35)/19 how does the number in the parenthesis affect? I know it is slimness of the tire... However I see that the lower the number the more expensive it is... Does it have any affect for the traction? or its just for the look..?

Your gas mileage will go down with wider tires.

The number you are referring to us called the aspect ratio. The 275 is the width of the tread in mm. The 19 is the diameter if the wheel in inches. The 35 is the aspect ratio. It is the percentage of the width that tells you his tall the sidewall is, 60 series tires are relatively tall, 20 series ate pretty much rubber bands. Generally the shorter the sidewall is the more expensive the tire. Not always.
