Tire size help!

Hi All,

I have a 2011 IPL. I would like to change my summer tires for a set of high performance all seasons when they are finished. I have searched the countless tire threads and have not found the answers I am looking for.

My questions are, what is the widest tires I can install on the stock IPL rims without and body rubbing? The car is not and will not be lowered and I am usually a sole passenger.

The other question is What wheel dimensions do yall reccomend for winter wheels for the IPL. The dealership is going to put the winter rubber on them as part of the deal I worked into the purchase. I live in Ottawa and the snow can get fairly nasty during the winter.

P.S. I am not a gear head so please try to dumb up your answers for me.

Widest or widest that fit properly? 275/40/19 or 285/40/19 is a good size within the proper safe range of tire width for those wheels. Why do you want wider tires than the stock ones on the stock wheels?

Can't help you with winter wheels, I live in TX where we run summer tires year round.

Thanks Black Betty. I like nice wide tires and I find the stock tires arent wide enough.

While I do truly appreciate your sarcasim Vic555 contructive and helpful advice like that of Black Betty is by far more helpful. With that said, thank you kindly for your "SEARCH" suggestion. I can't believe I never thought to search the forums for my answers! Really...how stupid do I feel right now?

The audacity, the nerve of some people. I mean seriosuly, how dare we post questions in a forum that is designed for posting questions!

When my stock Potenza's ran down I bought Hankook 245/40/19's Front and 275/35/19 rears. Never had a problem with rubbing and I was lowered. Can probably run a 285/35 in the rear no problem.

I run Hankook Ventus V12's year round. They are a summer performance tire. We rarely get much snow here in MD and when we do I'll just work from home.
