Help G37 sedan OEM wheel options - what fits?
G37 sedan OEM wheel options - what fits?
I want to start shopping on this forum for some 18" or preferrably, 19" OEM wheels, but I don't want a staggered setup.
There seems to be several options and configurations of OEM wheels offered on the 09-12 G37's. For example, based on what I've seen, there seems to be these options (and maybe more):
- G37 and G37x Sedan 17" non-staggered
- G37 and G37x Sedan optional 18" non-staggered
- G37s Sedan 18" staggered
- G37xs Sedan 18" non-staggered
- G37 Coupe 18" non-staggered
- G37s Coupe 19" staggered
- G37xs Coupe 19" non-staggered
The stock front/rear and sports front wheels seem to be 7.5" wide and the rear sports wheels seem to be 8" wide, except on the "X" where they are 7.5", front & rear. The coupe and/or vert may or may not vary from this - I am not sure.
So my questions are - how do the offsets vary in these wheels and cars?
1) Is the offset on the front wheels different than the offset on the rears of a staggered set?
2) Can a sport wheel set be bolted onto a plain sedan with no mods needed?
3) Can sport sets be split up, and put four "front" wheels in all four corners of a standard sedan?
4) Can sport sets be split up, and put four "rear" wheels in all four corners of a standard sedan?
5) Are the wheels for the coupe and vert interchangeable with the sedan? In other words, will the 18" stock coupe wheels
bolt right onto a standard sedan with no issue, or is the offset different?
Bottom line is that I'd love a split-v 18"/19" x 8.0"/8.5" non-staggered OEM wheel set for my '09 G37 sedan but I am not confident as to which ones will fit properly.
My research tells me I should seek a G37xs set, but I'd prefer them to be a bit wider, so that leans me toward four rear wheels from two different sport sets - but would they fit?

To add to the confusion, I have 18 x 8.5" in the rear on the g37s sedan, not 8.0".
From the owner's manual, page 9-10.

Edit, my 18" snow wheels/tires are 18x 8.0 x 40mm ofset. They just barely clear the sport brakes in the front (~3-4mm distance at the closest spot).

I appreciate the additional confusion, it helps make my point. :-)
Can anyone at least confirm or deny whether or not four rear, wider Sports wheels will fit on all four corners of a plain '09 journey sedan, without driving or looking funny?
I am confident the 18" 7.5" wide wheels will, as they're used on the X.

This is going to be the biggest gravedig of all time - please feel free to delete my post if necessary. I looked in other, newer threads for answers and this was still the most relevant thread I could find. Nobody answered TinsleyC's questions in this thread, but I feel like they are very similar to my questions. Does anyone know where can I find the answers?
I've got an 09 G37x sedan. I want to increase the size of the wheels on the car in order to fit the OEM sport model brakes on it, since they won't fit with my stock 17" rims.
Obviously the G sedans/coupes have been offered with various wheel configurations. Is it possible for me to just buy a set from any 2009-2013 G and expect them to fit on my car? Or do I need to be more picky? My hope is to get a set of 19's just to be safe on the brake side, although I am sure some of the 18's may also work for that purpose.
Thank you!

You could have found this information in any of the 30 other threads where it was answered. Some 18s fit and most 19s fit. If you want OEM wheels get some sport 18" duckfeet or 19" coupe wheels, otherwise look at aftermarket.
