I'm trying to decided between the two right now,
I'm going to start tracking my car in a few months,
Do you think running 10.5 +22 on the rear is okay for the track & driving very aggresive?
or would you recommend otherwise?
I feel like your car sits higher in the back, from the pictures.. or is this an illusion? lol

I think 10.5" (+22) with an Eibach PK drop will be fine on the track. Huwee and I, although wearing the same shoes, have two very different set-ups. He is stretching 255/35's in the rear and is pretty slammed. My set-up is less aggressive. Also, keep in mind that a little bit of negative camber is a good thing.

I have actually installed Eibach springs on my car and my current drop on coilovers is lower, although far from slammed.

It's difficult to say when I am not exactly sure what you are going for with your build, but, to me, the +22 rear offset is a just a bit too aggressive for a G. That's me, though. I have always been a proponent of function over form. My new wheels should be installed shortly and the offsets are a little more conservative. Not much, but I think it will be just enough to please me. I am looking forward.

Is there any way to achieve the 19" X 10 +35 look that German has on his TT on the SL?
I really like how German's rear sits. It looks perfect to me.
But then again... I want that concaveness on the SL

That's the thing... German wanted to run a 285 rear tire, so he picked the conservative offset. If he had chosen the +22 rear offset, he would have the same concavity of the SL, but he wouldn't be able to run a 285 rear tire. It's a trade-off.

 

+22 only comes in 10.5 like Bill said... like the look myself but it sticks out to much for performance in mind...

285/35 def wont fit...

As i was making my decision, i was looking at Lou's 10.5 + 22 on his rears w a 275/35 and complete shaved bumper bracket and still rubbing... not very attractive for what i had in mind...

 

+22 is too aggressive... specially if your thinking of performance in mind... like i showed on the pics... at 10 + 35, i was still rubbing... im as flush as i can be without having to run more negative camber... its perfect...

with my set up, a + 30 instead would be as flush as the front but i would def be rubbing turning into driveways and would have to shave complete bracket... some people mind a complete bracket shave...

i had to trim all the way to the bolt and didnt mind that but was hating that i was rubbing... it bothered me and i wasnt happy... however, it was an easy fix...

i have the opportunity to do a 5mm spacer to make it sit exactly as front... however, if you go even just a bit to aggressive, you cant go backworths... keep that in mind...

They make a 10.5 +32, TE37 TTA that is.

 

the SL only offers these offsets
too conservative - 19x8.5 + 52
too thin and conservative for rear - 19x9.5 + 22
too aggressive for rear - 19x10.5 + 12 and + 22

no 19x10 + 35...

took me a year to figure it out too, dont rush this porcess...

thats why i started this thread as a refence for a performance oriented set up with 285's...

 

Would you go 9.5 +34 instead of your +22 right now if you could change it?
or do you think you like it as is?

i see what youre saying and it would extend half and inch less with a +34... but i really like how it sits right now... i dont think you would be dissapointed with a + 34 though...

the front sits as i wanted it too... like i said, i was looking at a set up with a +22 up front and a + 22 in rears... front, to me, looks as aggressive as i wanted to be, but rears were to aggressive...

+ 34 in the front to a + 22 is a 12mm difference... 0.47 in. diff...

yea, proly can't pull a 285 off without mad camber...or at least out-of-spec camber.

These wheel threads usually channel into a wheel fitment discussion LOL.

 

Ride height and camber are contributing factors, as well. Lou and I are running the exact same set-up in the rear and I do not rub. Lou's G sits a bit lower than mine, though. I'm not sure what his camber specs are, either.

I think Lou would agree with me that 9.5" (+22) is almost the perfect offset for the front of a G coupe. Again, opinions differ, but it is aggressive, but not too aggressive. I run a 255/40 on my 9.5" (+22) front currently. If I were to do it again, I might go 245/40/19.

I don't know for certain, Aaron, but I would suspect that it would sit rather nicely. Like I said, I think (+22) on a 10.5" wheel in the rear is just a bit too aggressive for a G. Again, my opinion.
