paint wheels on g37?
paint wheels on g37?
I have a Black g37x coupe without the sport rims. thats the regular rims...
Do you guys think its a good idea to paint those rims black with plasti dip? How do you think it would look? I already used night shades on my headlights today and tinted it and it looks really nice!
The wheels will have a matte finish. I want a gloss one. How would it look with a matte finish?
for those who put gloss on top of the matte finish, what did you use to gloss over the matte finish from the plasti dip

I think plasti-dip is alright just for temporary purposes. The plasti-dip will give you a matte finish. It also attracts dirt a lot easier than a typical powder coat. Check around the fourm; there are many people who what plasti-dipped their wheels, so you can get an idea of how it looks
Lots of people seem to like to bash plastidip until someone actually uses it and they see that it turns out pretty well. I agree.....it should be used as a temporary modification, but when used in that manner its a great option. Not everyone has thousands and thousands of dollars laying around to do every mod they want right away, use it to test the color out to see if you like it and until you can get the wheels you really want. Besides, whats the worst that can happen? If you install it and don't like the look of it you can just peel it off and you're only out a couple $6 cans of plastidip.
I plasti-dipped the wheels and yes they look amazing! the only thing is that its fresh so its clean. im sure in about a week or so of driving it will get crazy dirty! Thats why I wanted to know about the clear coat. It will probably prevent it from attracting so much dirt

i have a OB g37x coupe too. I hated the stock silver wheels. Went with plasti-dip to try out the look of black wheels on a black car. liked it, but quickly i started seeing very small chips in the plasti-dip which exposed the silver underneath. small things like that pissed me off so i went ahead and got my wheels painted, a more permanent solution. see for yourself-
