Will OEM 18's fit S coupe?

Hi, just wondering... has anyone tried on the oem 18" wheels (split 5 spoke) on their S coupes? I'm talking about clearing the Akebono brakes with spacers.

Thanks.

^^You mean when the wheel rotates around the caliper, not when one is turning the steering wheel?

Was it a weight that was hitting the caliper?

the spokes hit the caliper, while turning hard the caliper moves to the out towards the spokes of the rim

I don't see how this could be. The caliper is mounted solidly to the same hub that the wheel is. If you turn the steering wheel to either extreme, the rotor and caliper assembly turns with the wheel. The pads within the caliper move. The caliper itself is fixed, no?

Perhaps a picture would make more sense. I just don't see how a static wheel can fit, but not when you start turning the steering wheel.

only the 2009+ 18s will fit the S coupes.

most 18s apparently won't clear the calipers.

I thought 2008 18" = 2009 18" ??

nope they're different.

the 2009s (the ones fitted for use with the akebonos) are the webbed spoke ones.
the 2008s are more wishbone 5 spoke.

this is what I remember hearing from previous conversations.

Would the Akebono work with G37 18x8 +43 wheels? Here an example: https://www.myg37.com/forums/3372313-post1.html
