Lease tire question

Just leased a 2011 G37x coupe a few months ago - the car is in complete stock [big thanks to lease contract]

Anyways, this car came with 225/50R18 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A1-A, 94V, All season tires but I want to know if it's okay to swap them to a different tire brand [ex, Hankook, Yokohama etc] under Infiniti's lease agreement before return.

This is my 1st lease with Infiniti so any ideas? With BMW, I must return the car with the exact same tire.

Thanks in advance!

you can as long as it is a DOT approved but like model... i.e.--crappy model tires are not allowed

The best is to swap tires now. Keep the OE tires till about 6 months before returning the car and remount them back. that way you don'y worry about driving on tires you don't like or having to pay for new ones before returning.

OR

if you like the tire and are worried about expensive replacements..... IFS will demand "comparable" tire on return.

You can have a comparable tire as the above poster stated. HOWEVER, your front and back tires HAVE TO MATCH (same brand/model)

I turned in my 07 G35 with bald tires and wasnt charged. Haha. I had my 08 G37 lease return inspection done couple of weeks ago and I didnt have any issue with the different tires I have on now.

Thanks guys!

I guess Infiniti isn't strict as BMW.. GOOD!

So... What are the 'comparable' tires? Any suggestions?

I would think that they would be more lax in returning a leased model if you are getting another Infiniti. They probably factor in the stuff that isn't quite right into the trade price.

Also IFS website should have a check list to follow.

My last lease return, the check list was done by a bored sales guy. He didn't really care about anything. Just took out his Mont Blanc pen and placed the paper on my car's hood and signed off....

Yup, I did check their website but it didn't state any info on 'comparable' tires. I guess I will just stick with the Dunlop for now.

WOW! Montblanc? He must be the number one bored sales man! haha
