any way to trade in rims?

I leased a 2010 g37x coupe and it is perfect in everything, but I really want dark rims. So I was thinking that the IPL rims would be perfect. Is there anyway I can do some sort of trade in with Infiniti to get those rims? I do not have that much cash to shell out so I was hoping to get them somewhat cheap. Thanks

Good luck doing a trade with a dealership. Most will not do that, but look around you might find some used ones for cheap or someone willing to do some sort of trade.

You do not want to trade with the dealership, it will not be a fair trade. Try selling yours and buying some in the classified section or online. Let us know how it goes

Thanks for the feedback. If you guys know any nice looking brand that is not that expensive I would love to know too. And I also am not sure how it works with returning the car to the dealership after the lease. Do the original rims have to be on the car? Cause if not then I will definitely try to trade outside of the dealership.

I like OZ, you could get some from TireRack or so. Enkei also available and some very nice too.

Honestly...you're stuck with your wheels. Dealer won't trade. I wouldn't sell your wheels since they are a lease and depending on your dealer they may give you grief on trade-in, even with upgraded IPL wheels. And since you want to do it cheap, I'm guessing buying new wheels are not an option.

I can't believe someone here hasn't thrown out the plastidip option yet. I don't recommend that, but it's bound to come up.

I was thinking of plastidipping but I think that the dealer would give me a harder time with that than new IPL rims. Or the best case scenario would be buying new wheels, keeping the old ones until the lease is up, and before I give back the car swap back the original rims and sell the newer ones.

you can just remove the plasti dip when you trade it in and the dealership would never know

Oh I wasn't aware you could remove it. Does plastidipping have to be done by a professional or is it easy to do?

Not sure up North but in Texas some dealerships do sell take-offs. If a customer buys a car and upgrades the wheels, or if the dealer themselves upgraded the wheels, they are put up for sale (usually in their parts department). Good luck trying to find nice take-offs though, usually dealer personnel have first dibs on them (service, mechanics, salesmen, etc).

Yea thats whats so great about it, you just spray it on and peal it off. Also, it is very easy to use, and it always comes out with an even finish. Search around on the site about it, its been brought up many times.

I know plenty of people who have used it on their wheels, then pealed it off when they wanted to without any issues

Some dealers will do it depending on the management and owners. ive done it only once though but with Mazda bought a stock rx8 and i wanted the 18" 5 spoke wheels not the 16's and they took them off the shinka model lol. but they charged me like and extra 2k. got ripped a new one... i could have just bought them from someone for like 800$ or less.

But this is infiniti not mazda so might be harder. i saw some for sale but for like 2k..too much id rather go vossens or something.
