I really like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Just put these on my mom's Lexus GS460. Huge improvement over the factory Dunlop run flats that came on the car. I will probably put these on my G when it's ready for tires.

How's the tramlining on these tires compared to the Potenzas? I'm about to buy a set of Pilot SS, and I'm just wondering what to expect.

can anyone else with these tires validate this? not that i don't trust the OP but per tire rack survey, the ride noise is supposed to be significantly quieter than our stock re050 potenzas

I haven't ridden on the Stock Potenzas in years so its hard to compare them directly, but the PSS are slightly more noisy than average, particularly over expansion joints and imperfections in the road surface. Maybe people are giving them a pass on the noise because they handle so damn awesome. I know I do. I can't see myself wanting to try anything else now.

I think they have a 30 or 45 day satisfaction guarantee so if they are noisier than you can take you can exchange them for sonething else.

Driving the two next to each other the Pilots do run quieter, even on concrete surfaces.

I have these in 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 and compared to the stock RE050 potenzas there is actually a little more tramlining or howling with pavement that have grooves on them. On nice paved freeways they are super quiet, compared to the RE050. Overall, I would buy them again, make sure you get an alignment to get the best wear out of them!

Higher performance tires tend to have more tramlining/noise.

Hmmm, I have the exact same tires as you, no tramlining to speak of.
They definitely quieter than Bridgestones.
Im lowered, but aligned dead in the middle of factory specs.

Back in the good ole days, Pilots came stock with the G35 Sport.

I am on stock height but I do have front and rear sway bars. I did get an alignment to factory spec but the noise is definably there on crappy bay area roads. It is super quiet on nice pavement though. Guess noise will vary depending on where you drive, etc.

I went from the same Hankooks to the PSS. Put on a diaper before you drive, you may wet yourself.

So the $64,000 question is.....what kind of mileage can I expect to get out of these tires? Is it close to the 25,000+ that people are getting from the Hankook V12's?

Inquiring minds want to know.......

They have a 30K mile guarantee. Half that if you run a staggered size.

Hankook has no mileage guarantee.
