Wrong offset received from Dealer
Wrong offset received from Dealer
I have a 2009 Gsedan and received my wheels two weeks ago, and a 3 days after installation I blew a tire and slightly bent a rear wheel (my fault, I should have been more cautious, and forgot how to drive with 20's). Anyway, yesterday I got my new tire, and it turns out the rear wheel, which was supposed to be 10" wide with a 38mm rear offset, turns out to be a 35mm rear offset.
I'm not 100% sure how it happened. Either the wrong wheel was ordered by my dealer, or the manufacturer sent me the wrong wheel. I'm adding my Eibach lowering springs tomorrow, but as of now the rear wheel sticks out quite a bit. My dealer helped me remove my felt liner on the inside, just in case the 3mm difference.
My question to the forum is on your thoughts on the 38mm rear offset vs. the 35mm rear. Do you think this 3mm difference will cause the rear to rub in the rear? Would you recommend sending them back (keep in mind I did slightly bend one of the wheels, so i'm not sure how it would work out)
I'm installing the pro-kit tomorrow, so I should know fitment soon. Just wanted to hear some of the thoughts from the pro's out there. Thanks for any help.
