Question about hub centric rings.

So I did a boo boo and put my oem wheels on and forgot to remove the hub centric rings. It was a PITA trying to remove the hub rings after because they turned into crush washer rings when I put the oem wheels on.

Anyways... I need a new set now and I found 2 types, aluminum and polycarbonate. Is there a big difference between the two? Which is more durable, or more problem free?

Thanks.

Well, thanks aLOT guys!

I did my research and there were a couple of threads from other car forums saying not to get the plastic ones, there was none saying not to get the aluminum ones.

There were some that said poly rings can crack and turn brittle over time.

I think I'll stick with the aluminum ones.

MODS.... pls. close this thread before a noob brings it back to life 2 years from now.

I was told the opposite. Odd as it sounds plastic are the better option for rings IMO. Metal can rust or oxidize and bind up with the wheel or hub.

Yeah, I've read about that.

But aluminum doesn't rust or corrode ... do they?

Ive had my aluminum rings for over 2 years of daily driving and they seemed fine until I messed them up.

You can also apply grease for added protection.
