anybody know what this is

I went to get my new rims put on (much thanks to US-Autotech for hooking me up) and the tire place (Goodyear, but I live on the Texas-Mexico border in a tiny town so they dont see much) had no idea what that bolt was. It was only on the front wheels and the new wheels did not fit over it.

Simple solution was to remove it as it didnt look like it did much. But before I drive on it I wanted somebody else's oppinion.

Thanks

It's to prevent the OEM wheels from being accidentally mounted on the incorrect axle. Taking it off is perfectly fine, we all have to when mounting aftermarket wheels. You can throw them away. You're safe.

Thanks Jeremy, on another note…. are we sure the front offset is +43?
I only ask because I just attempted to put a 19 x 8.5 +45 on and it rubs on the caliper. I know I am giving up 2mm, but really, rubbing on the caliper for 2 mm?? I'm gonna have to get spacers now. The only way I was able to leave the shop was to put my 19 x 9.5 +35 on the front and those fronts on the rear.

Yes. More than offset determines whether a given wheel will fit or not. Offset is only the distance between the mounting surface to the lip. The shape of the wheel center cones into play as well. The large brake calipers particularly in front will make it impossible to run certain wheels without spacers. Then you run the risk of having them look MexiFlush to clear the calipers.

That's why you may see a wheel that has a 4" lip on a G35 and a G37 fitment of the same wheel may only have a 2.5" lip.
