Not to come across like an *** here, but it sounds like this is a mess from start to finish.

Brand new wheels that aren't clearing the calipers, why wouldn't you use caution installing them? Why wouldn't your friend use caution installing your ****? Especially because of the fact you had fitment problems with the original set..

50k car, 2500 plus on wheels, and very careless and poor decision making here.

@Kidcane

Offset doesn't determine clearance? Not the only determining factor but if that were the case then my original 38 offset should of cleared my sport calipers.

Not necessarily. The Akebono front brakes are large and require a lot of thought due to clearance. If you look at the stock 19" rims you see the spokes curve out to clear the calipers. Lots of aftermarket rim designs do not have enough clearance which then requires a spacer to fit.

Offset is only one of the considerations.

good news after writing a long email about my horrible experience so far they decided to take back all the wheels even the scratched ones and rears wheels which i have been driving on for the past month.. they said they want to choose a different design wheel that they know will 100% fit because the ones i have are the right offset but the large calipers are the reason for the issues. I shipped them all back today and am going to wait until i am refunded before telling them I want to hold off on new wheels and then go to a place to avoid the hassle of ordering online lol just hope they dont try to threaten to charge me for the scratched wheels and used rear tires thanks for all your help though will post up pics when i finally get new wheels

Well that's good. Sucks you had to go through the hassle for over a month, I've been 3months + on these damn Volks. Makes me suspicious if I'll ever buy another set again. Although I really do want some Mercury Silver GT-30's.... ugh

i will but obviously car shops dont always know exact fitment either which is why i just had a problem yeah i ordered online but it was from a custom car shop.. id rather have the correct offsets from someone who actually has the wheels on the car so i can make sure the shop is ordering the right ones to avoid any issues

If the place that you ordered doesn't know...they aren't very good. Wheel companies know fitment and caliper clearance.

Cv1s will work you can run 20/25 or 32/42. There's so many threads on cv1s you don't need a tire shops bs

Not sure if this has been mentioned, (I skimmed through the thread) but are you trying to use the factory lugs with the 5mm spacers? You should be able to safely use 5mm spacers without having to replace the studs. The OEM lugs may be too big for the aftermarket wheels you are using though, and not sink far enough inside the wheel hole.

Of course everyone else stating the place should've given you the right wheels and none of this should even be an issue.

Too late now though since you have sent them back. Hopefully they get you the right ones this time.

I think the lugs have to do at least 7 full rotations to be "safe" otherwise you can rip them out of the treads. The place you order should also know if the lugs are right.
