Today.... I went to pick up my Volk GT-30 from Wheels of America in Philly. I told them could you please take off the faces of the wheels, re-torque them down and balance them correctly. Well, I brought it to them on Monday and the manager said he'd have them back to me on Tuesday/Wednesday. Well... here's Friday and look at my ******* SURPRISE FOR ME



I fawking drove 2 damn hours to see that **** and the manager didn't even have the damn courtesy to tell me there was a scuff the size of guam on my god damn rims. I told him I drove 2 damn hours just to see my rims scuffed to hell? Even the fawking face of the wheel I MEAN COME ON!!! .... Like wtf man... holy ******* ****.

Nothing ever goes right for me with the god damn ****ing wheels. I haven't even put them on yet to see if I still vibrate.. which they probably ******* will.


ANYWAYS.... they said I can take it back home with me.. I'll test drive them and I'll ultimately decide if I want to bring it back. The manager told me he knows a guy that is good at blending... but I thought the faces of these wheels were a special color??? He said ...No... it's painted black and then coated hyper silver. Can anybody confirm this with me?

 

Man those wheels are a curse.. Weren't these already powdered coated just recently? Or was it just the barrels that were repowdercoated and the face was left the original Volk finish?

 

That's for sure a custom color. Volk wheels paint don't scrape off like that.

@Graphite.. yea just the lips were repainted and the faces were left original color. i TOLD him if I wanted to do it, MASK OFF the ENTIRE wheel and just try to refinish that one spoke. Should I give it a go or....

I'm pretty sure it can be blended. At the most a very good color match can be done.

Dude. Just give those away to someone and put your stocks back on. It seems like you are just not meant to have wheels.

 

+1 just get rid of them, they really aren't worth all of the stress your giving yourself. Throw them on eBay and buy something else.
