Yeup, I agree. ^. I also want to add to TVPostSound post.
He is correct in stating the 275/35 has the closest diameter to the 245/40. In actuality, with 265/35's your speedo will read 1.5% faster vs. having 275/35's your speedo will only read 0.5% faster hence one of the reasons the majority of the people here go with 275/35 instead of 265/35. I personally went for both the better speedo reading as well as a beefier "rear-end look."

Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h 245.40.19
Speedometer1: 60.9 mph 101. km/h 265.35.19 Rim Width 9 -10.5
Speedometer1: 60.3 mph 100. km/ 275.35.19 Rim Width 9 - 11

If Nissan wanted us to run a tire that wide they would have made the wheels 19X10.

Your running a tire that can support wheel that 2inchs wider ?


Call Tirerack they will tell you the same thing.

I think you missed his point. The point isn't that you'll notice the 0.3mph difference in speed. The point is that a 275 on the rear wheel is as close to a "plus zero" size as you can get, while still being safe. And, if you didn't know, the Tire Rack has a rep that posts here and also recommends a 275.

You obviously aren't going to believe anything other than what you want to believe.

Here's a pic of a 275 on the 9" rear wheel, just to show there's no muffin top here:

Exactly my point. Additionally, I bought my tires from Tire Rack and they told me to go with 275's not 265's. I even "tested" them and asked if 265's would be better and the rep told me "no." But as san~man stated, "you won't believe anything other than what you want to believe", even though facts are presented to you and prove otherwise.

Oh BTW, concerning the sidewall, which you are worried about, it is actually 0.1 in smaller on a 275/35 setup than a stock tire per the Tire Size Calc.

wow nice wheel. is that powder coat or something else?

is this car lowered? how long have you had this wheel/tire set up, i mean is there difference in thread wear compare to stock size?

My issue is your running a tire that much wider then your wheel.

If you look at the 370z sport wheels they are 19X10 on 275.35.19 And the tires are nice and tight and are pulled just a little bit.

Again putting 275. on 9inch wheel is not smart.

But each to it's own.

man, you're the one who mentioned the speedometer in the first post so don't be sarcastic and ask whether we're gonna see the difference or not It's a matter of fact that 1. the 275/35 has the closest diameter to a 245/40, and 2. as close to a "plus zero" size as you can get, 3. ur last argument was to ask a tire rack rep, and we did and they confirmed our point of view. My friend has 285 in the back and 255 in the front on the stock suspension without any pro kit or anything and it fits perfectly! I started a thread a few days ago asking about different tire brands (https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...r-my-baby.html) and I was looking to get 245/40 and 265/35 but after reading this thread here i'm now considering 275s instead!! thanks for all the helpful info guys

Can I run 245/40/19 all the way around? If so how would this or would this effect the speedo or ride?

245 front 285 rear with eibach pro kit & 20mm spacers all around. No issues, no fat friends either.

This is kind of related, but I notice with stock tire size on oem 19s that it's slightly difficult to keep the car in a perfectly straight line on the highway. I'm coming from a 06 350z, owned 2 of them, and the steering wheel at dead center felt much more defined, with both 350z running stock 18s staggered with 225/45 and 245/45 tires, all rims half inch narrower than g37 oem 19s. The stock tire size on the g37 seems oddly narrow to me.

Does anyone have any feedback as to whether a slightly plus sized tire, maybe even 245/40/19 all around, would correct the vague dead center feel in the steering wheel? I'll be getting Michelin pilot super sport tires, which I had on my 350z and were totally amazing for anyone curious about that tire.
