I got the sport 2011 g37xs with the new rims.. all 4 have 225 tires on them. I was curious if it would be okay to put larger size on the back then the front to stagger it.

Anyone ever do it. I just hate little tires in the back of the car..

any advice or input would be appreciated. Thanks

 

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought staggered meant the difference in width? (i'm really not trying to correct you, I just want to understand myself)

from what I heard on this website, the width difference in the rims/tires don't matter with the awd system, what matters is the rolling diameter. The rolling diameter just have to within 5% of each other.

For example, if you have 19 inch front, your back should be (since you obviously don't want to get a smaller rim) with in 19.95inches.

So to sum it up, the larger tire size should work if it's with in 5%.

I don't remember where I read this on this forum, but I'm just quoting somebody.
Please feel free to correct me if anyone has the right information.

 

This is correct, tires can be wider on AWD models but the rim size cannot be different.

 

Im planning to buy rims soon and just wanted to confirm so your saying i can’t run 9.5 width in the front and 11 in the rears I have a Awd sport coupe
