19" vs. 20" Wheels on G37 Sedan
19" vs. 20" Wheels on G37 Sedan
Probably opening up a can of worms with this one, but do you guys prefer 19" or 20" wheels on G Sedans (particularly an OB 2009)? Looking to go aftermarket for some wheels, thinking 19" and a lowering kit... been wondering, would 20" wheels be the same height as 19" due to tires or would the ride be higher?

Your ride height should be really close to the same either way.
I've had both (and the stock 18" wheels), and I don't think there is a huge difference between the 19" and 20". The 20" tires are easier to find, and sometimes cheaper. The 19" does have slightly better ride quality. They are also a little more forgiving to possible damage.

Here are the specs:

Hankook Ventus V12 245/35/20 285/30/20
More photos will be posted this weekend. Just a tease until I could get cleaned up and pick a shoot location that I like.

The compliments are greatly appreciated. It is still a work in progress.
Sorry for the delay bros. I've been buried and haven't had time to check up on here like I should. My bad!

The Vossen wheels I really wanted were the VVS085
VVS085 VVS-085 staggered Wheels Rims – 5x120, 5x114.3, 5x4.5, 5x130, 20?, 22?, 20x9, 20x10.5, 22x9, 22x10.5
It all depends on what you want from your car. If looks are the most important for you...then 20" wheels & lowering your car are a must.
For me...the most important from my car is performance & handling. I go to north georgia mountains very often except during winter. 19" is the most i would go on mine. Looks are secondary for me like an added bonus.
I know...i am on the minority side on this forum.

IMO it is really subjective to what type of wheels you are looking for. I believe 1pc type (ex. rays forged monoblock wheels) of wheels are great in 19's for their lighter weight for better performance. However, for any multi-piece wheels especially with step lip design, you need to go 20's since 19's will look too small. My rule of thumb is, if the spokes of the wheels reach further, go with 19's, if not go 20's. Just my 2 cents.
I personally prefer 19's over 20's. I am currently on 19" Nismo A34's which I am very happy with. Not really feelin the whole stretched , pokey pokey stuff you see on so many vehicles nowadays.. especially if your wheels aren't that aggressive to begin with. I see no point in doing that plus it's not very practical.
GL w/ your decision. In the end, go with whatever makes U happy.
