Wow, you're a clever one!

I suppose I'm the first person in the world to have scratched a rim while parallel parking! Try doing it thousands of times on the hills of San Francisco, and I'm certain you'll scratch a rim once or twice.

Can I get a different type of tire that would stick out farther? Or is it all about the shape of the rim?

Aeonking, I agree with LegitMW. You just have to be very careful when parallel parking. No tire out there will protect your wheel against curb rash. Tires with lip protectors may help against debris, but not with a curb. CV1 would look good, though.

The sport OEM rims stick out about 2-3 inches past the tire since they're convex. The CV1s do not stick out past the tire at all. It's much easier to get curb rash on the OEM rims since they stick out so much. You have to be careful to not park closer than 2-3 inches to the curb. But if you've got rims that are concave, it's more forgiving.

And yes, thanks for again saying that I have to be careful when parking. Have you ever parallel parked on a 60 degree hill in SF when you've got about 6 inches in front and behind you of space before there's another car? It's not easy to fit, let alone make sure you're exactly 2 inches from the curb. Oh, and once you're parked, you have to turn your wheels into the curb or you'll get a ticket. That doesn't help either

I know what you are saying. I've never parked in SF, but I have had to park uphill in certain parts in Philly and I know exactly what you are saying. I hate parallel parking and I'm always as careful as I can be. Been curb surfing before. Not cool.

Thanks so much for all your help Diego. I'm very pleased with the stance.

My back window is actually the same shade of tint as the front, but I had my dry cleaning hanging on that side of the window.

Thank you!

It feels like I'm driving on a cloud. The handling is sweet, and there is no rubbing at all. The Hankooks V12 Evos are really nice!

Question for everyone. Has anyone successfully been able to run Hankook v12 275/35 or 30/20 tires in the back for the CV3 wheels without rubbing?

I currently have 255/30 in the back and the wheels are taking a beating from the rocks all around the lips. I want to get the wheels powdercoated and avoid the issue of chipping by putting a thicker tire.
