I have RWD and it's true that the AWD model has a higher height due to the different suspension. I was thinking about lowering my ride but I don't want to worry about dips and driveways when driving around town. It doesn't look bad so I decided to leave it alone.

 

Stock Suspension. G37 19s with 245/40 19 all around. PS the sport package doesnt sit any lower that the regular Journey, but the AWD x does sit higher.

wait, 245/40/19 all around? so do you rotate your tires even though the wheel width is different but with same size tires?

 

no, there werent a whole lot of tire choices in the stock size so i just went with the rear tire size. i did the same on my Stock 18s' when i had them. i was stuck with either the Potenzas or the Goodyears or toyos. Ride quality is exactly the same as my 18"s. Technically if you buy new tires up front, when its time to get new rears you can just have them move the fronts to the back. thats what i did. it helps keep road noise down because some tires can tend to get a bit noiser as they are worn in.

 

when you had 18s, did you go 225/50/18 or 245/45/18 all around? I wuold think the 245/45/18 would be too wide for the 7.5in wide fronts?

 

I read on one of the G forums that the non-sport sedan with the stock suspension actually sits a little lower, by a couple of tenths, leaving less of a gap in the wheel wells, then the S sedan, with the sport suspension.

 

On my 07 w/ staggered 18" sport wheels I replaced the Potenzas w/
235/50/18s and they worked well. Here's some pics:

ya, sidewall is a little too thick and bulgy for my taste.

 

i did 235 instead of 225 up front... you couldnt even notice the difference

 

on your 19s? it's a huge difference on a 7.5 v. 8.5 width wheel.

 

noo noo on my 18s when i had them... 245/40/19s right now with no issues. it actually gives the rims a little more protection from curbs as well.

 

Man AWD sitting higher jus = sux...what was I thinkin? Oh well, 34 more mos to go...
