I just found out today that the front and rear tires are different sizes. How would I go about rotating them? And if I don't rotate them, how long will the tires last? I drive fast and floor it a lot, and sometimes even drift a little.

 

Yup. You basically can't rotate tires on the S sedan. The stock tires seem to last people 15-20k depending on your driving style.

 

You can side-to-side rotate since the tire orientation on the rim is the same (not directional, just "outside" stamped on the tire). This will give slightly more tread life, but like mentioned don't expect more than 20k from summer grip tires.

 

This also means you have to dismount and swap directional tires and then remount and rebalance them to get a bit more life from them. I'd suggest you use that effort to instead monitor tire pressures and treadwear carefully (weekly) to maximize tire life.

I'd further suggest that the rear tires will need replacing sooner than the fronts, no matter what you do.

 

The Potenzas aren't directional, just outside bias, so you can go side to side w/out remounting.

 

Great tip...have you noticed any better wear or performance by rotating them?

 

We sold our 07 w/ staggered wheels but did rotate side to side & got about 23k on the Potenzas before changing them, the rears were down to the wear bars. I'm guessing we added about 1500 miles by doing it, but not really conclusive~tires were very evenly worn by doing it though so I assume it's a good thing to do
