Widest width on G37x Coupe?
Widest width on G37x Coupe?
Before I start this thread, I know some people here are dead set that you shouldn't go staggered on the AWD system. I asked a rep at tirerack for a second opinion (I figured if anyone knows tires/wheels, its them) and he said total diameter is the only consideration with AWD. Also, Nissans own GT-R is staggered 9.5" wide in the front, 10.5" wide in the back and the ATTESA-ETS doesnt seem to have a problem on there, so I'm inclined to think its safe to stagger with AWD as long as you keep the total diameter within a small percent of each other (3% or less).
That being said, I'm looking at going staggered on my G37x coupe for my summer wheels once we get out of this winter. I know I have a little more play with the spoke patterns and offsets since I don't have the sport brakes, and usually the widest you can go on the front is 9.5" and the rear is 10.5" for the RWD config. Is there anything in the AWD config (maybe suspension hardware?) that might limit this to less width? Also, are offsets the same with the AWD configuration as RWD? I don't see many people with staggered setups an AWD, so I figured I would just ask.
Thanks in advance.

it's been the same dilemma for years on the sedans... i know personally people who have run staggered and not trigger any AWD codes... 10.5" for the rear would be considered safe. i have 20x9" and can still fit more room but why go so wide in the front which will hinder turning handling?
Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely more concerned with the rear since that's where the width counts. I don't expect to go as wide as possible on the front, but I just want to know where my limits are.
I was hoping someone to find someone actually staggered on the AWD coupe and can confirm if we ride on the same offsets and width limits as the RWD. If that sounds like anyone here, be interested in hearing about it.
