Paint Code - 19" Sport Wheels
I just tried two different paints to touch up some small scratches on 2012 Sport 19 in wheels (put there by an incommpetent dealer who didn't know hwo to mount tires).
I tried the Rustoleum Silver Metallic, sprayed it into a small container and touched it up with a brush. It's not a bad match, but not great. It would probably look fine if you painted the whole wheel, but ocmmpared to the original finish, there is more metallic flake in the Rustoleum paint.
Some have also suggested a DupliColor Ford paint, DSFM 236, Charcoal Silver Metallic. It's also available in a touch-up tube, NG 236. It's convenient, the brush is built in to the top. But, surprisingly, it's not as good of a match as the Rustoleum paint. It's noticably lighter than the original finish, which again would be fine if you're painting the whole wheel, but not so great for touch ups.
So, the search continues. Has anyone gotten Enkei to fess up what the paint color is?
