These holes are deep. How to people avoid scratching the **** out of the holes when taking off their lugs?

Also would touch up paint fix this with an added clear coat for volks?

I went to autozone and bought flat black touch up paint and clear coat but the black doesnt match:

 

you can purchase sockets with plastic sleeves on them to avoid this from happening. Thats what we use for all our customers cars. Also, avoid using an impact gun

 

I haven't scratched mine yet, but I only take mine off very carefully by hand because mine are the exact same situation (black GTC). Where could you find these plastic sleeved sockets?

 

well i've only had my volks on for a week and i effed them up by taking them off to clean... im pretty **** when it comes to scratches so im pissed.....

Anyone ever tried to do very minor touch up paint on black gloss that can give advice? ill post pics in a couple mins

also yeah I def need that plastic sleeve lug wrench thing bad if im going to be taking these wheels off weekly to clean

 

I use a 4 way on mine because it is a little thinner than a tire iron.

Oh and a paint pen can clean most of that up.

 

I've always wrapped the metal socket with a few layers of electrical tape. Does the trick.

 

that's why you guys should invest in a nice set of volk formula lugs. those lugs will prevent getting scratches like that

 

I agree with Lou@Ampd.. The sockets with the outer protective sleeve prevent that from happening.. You should get a set of those??? Sorry to see you scratched your wheel.. Nice wheels by the way.. I have the same on my VR...

 

Meh. I guess it could be worse... Im sure if I can get the right touch up paint it wont be noticeable except to me which would irritate me a bit, but better than hitting a curb or something.

Anyone have any ideas where I can get that jet black gloss touch up paint? Went to Autozone and got their "flat black". Not even close.
