Anybody try using the Dunlop Graspic GS-? tires on their G?

They are one of the few guys that make a tire that is the exact fit for the G37 18" wheel.

I'm considering getting a set in the next few months and wondering if others have tried them.

 

Here in the Denver, Colorado area, I will be keeping to the stock all seasons. Worked beautifully last winter in 3-5" of snow while on the freeway, and snowy/icy conditions is not much of a consistent issue around here. Might be different in the mountains, but not so much on the flats.

 

I'm picking up a 2010 Infiniti G37XS this Friday and want to know what I can use for winter rims/tires. I have a set of alloy wheels and winter tires that were on my Altima SE that are 215-60r x 16's and wonder if they will work ?

What did you put on your G37XS ?

Yeah, winter tires help a lot with braking and handling. I have a G37xS and the Sport MAXX all seasons aren't that great in the snow. I bought a set of wheels and Blizzak LM-25 tires for the winter.

 

for the other Montreal guys who posted here, where do you get your tires/wheels usually? online or locally?

 

Damn, I heard the dunl sport maxx were good in the snow, much better than the Goodyear option. But a few in this thread suggest otherwise.

I am not going to put winter tires on my X. But I have a wrangler as well, which I may not keep, depending on snow, how much we get, and how the G performs.

As for the USA vs CA winter reference above, old post.... But I got 80" of snow in Philly last season. Let's go Flyers.

 

blizzaks are pretty popular. running them on the sport 19's staggered right now. they do ok in snow. nothing to brag about

 

I think i'm going with Hankook W409 iPikes with studs. They're cheaper than any other option and have very good reviews.

That being said would it make sense to go with a different tire/rim size for winter? I've read online that some people prefer to "minus one" their sizes to save cost and possibly to use a different tire width. I have a '10 Xs so my wheels are 225/50/R18 all around.

I believe the reason is, the smaller wheels will help the tire cut through the snow better

 

what dimensions should I be going for then? do i need to do anything special to the car hwen mounting smaller tires?

 

Just ordered the Bliz 17"225/55 for my X. $1189 taxes in . Pretty good for us up here. We have to buck up when you want good tires . And that is going on my stock rims. Next spring will look at 18" setup for a dedicated summer package

 

no, but your speedo will be off a little bit. therefore your mpgs will be effected as well.

and you have to have the same size tires all the way around since you have an X.

 

that's a good reference. is 225/55 the only option for 17"? and can I use the stock rims with them since the stock tyres are 18"?

I have the Dunlops on the 18" wheels. They are relatively good for an all-season tire, but they are still an all-season tire. I don't think any of them come close to a true winter tire. I live in northern Colorado.

 

They make a couple of 18s"225/45 and 225/55 that is the newest Blizz out the WS70.

 

yea but i'll go with 17".. cheaper and more choices. My question was related to the 17" sizes. Do i need to use 225/55 or are there other options?
