scratched OEm wheels, cure??

so i was an idiot & got lazy and decided to bring my car into a "hand carwash"

big mistake!!!

the rails scratched both the front and rear wheels on the driver side.

basically the alloy color of the OEM wheels is now black lines around the edges

so the purpose of this vent and thread is to ask if there was a color match paint? or a cure for this??

*** I search***

I scratched and scraped mine up pretty badly, thought I was gonna have to get new wheels. What I found out is that there are shops that specialize in straightening and re-finishing alloy wheels. Do a web search or even yellow pages for a shop in your area. These guys work wonders and the cost is reasonable. Got mine totally refinished for $100 a piece, which included welding aluminum into the deeper scrapes. You can see the result pretty well in this pic. Or you could use this as an excuse to get those aftermarkets you've been lusting after

Hey, Since your in NYC, visit my boy Al's hub caps, He'll clean your rims up for about $135.00, It'll go from curbed up to looking straight out of the factory, He's done about 3 jobs for me, All turned out great, it was almost like i purchased brand new wheels from the dealership.

you can also try to sand them and paint them by yourself. Depends on how bad is it.

^ somebody tried that and wasn't too happy with the result:

Trying to match the paint (actually it's a powder coat) might be tough.

I'm in the same boat. I curbed my rims after bowling yesterday I probably won't fix it though, it's relatively minor, and I'd be especially pissed if I did it again shortly after I got it fixed.
