Arrrgh!

Just now I curbed my passenger side front rim. Mother f'er. Not just a little but 2 inches up two spokes as well as the leading edge in between! Help! Anybody parting out a wrecked G or interested in letting a front rim go. This is driving me nuts! Not going to get new rims due to it's a lease.

I did that a few months ago. I walked by the car today to get in and noticed it again. I wish these tires had the lip on it to help prevent curbing

Holy smokes fellas, you guys know you can get them repaired to look like new right? A lot cheaper than buying a whole new wheel too.

I knew you could, just didn't know for how much. I'll look into it. I'd def. do that before buy new rim, unless I was getting Volks or something.

Yeah, it's wearing off now ( the irritation of banging up the rim). I talked to a couple of places. One wants $210 the other $100. Guess which way I'm going.......... Oh well. It will all be done on Sat so no worries.

Been there done that. I'm eventually going with a set of aftermarket wheels for the spring, summer and fall. The OEM wheels will be powder coated and mounted with tires that are a little better in snow (my winter wheels) than the OEM tires.

Do what I did, go to a hardware store and get some sand paper for metal, really fine grit, the rims are very soft. mask off the curbed part, sand till its smooth, get some silver metalic krylon spray paint, touch up and u cant even tell.

stop being so lazy and get out to check before you get closer.

a tip for everybody too: if you angle your passenger side mirror downward a bit it helps A LOT.. you can see the clearance between your car and the curb and still have coverage on your blind spot..

Dang a 100 bucks only?

I had one rim repaired locally, every single shop was quoting me around $250 .. they all said the G's used a special chrome-like paint which costed a premium. Normal rims just using plain old silver would've been $100 less...
