tpms reset

Ran the battery down loading up a bunch of CDs ( not too smart) so I charged it up. Tire pressure sensor came on. Tire pressures are fine but light remains on. Is there a reset button ? The manual say is reests itself after driving. Not happening after about 60 miles of driving.

thanks in advance.

That should not cause a problem. Did you actually check the air pressures?

well last time i had to change tires for my aftermarkets, the tpms light came on and the guy said it's probably because they were out of the rims for a while so i had to reprogram it. so i did just that

no new rimes or tires...just the battery run down and recharged,

I di re-check the tire pressures and lowered them to spec. Have driven about 60 miles and the light is still on. Do I have to take it in to dealer to get it reset?

On my Mini there is a reset button you can enter whenever you adjust pressure or need to change tires, etc.

talked to dealer. Said they have to reset it. Personally, I like MINIs idea of aloowing the owner to set/reset their pressures to whatever they wish and then lock in TPMS monitoring on reset. PS..its just a click on the turn signal stalk.

Dealer reset it today. Drove the car a mile and light went out Running the battery all the way down (like I did, stupidly) requires a dealer reset. Same thing for key memory link--required a reset.

So everytime we change a set of wheels/tires, one winter and one for spring/summer, we have to bring our car to the dealer to be reset? There must be another way to reset the TPMS. IMHO that is lame. They should have provided the means, through the Settings option, to reset the TPMS. How about OBD2 scan tools?

no-the reset should work on a tire change. My issue came form killing the battery.

But the Infiniti system is lame. My MINI has a reset button. If you want to run higher/lower pressures than suggested, the reset button adapts to that level. That is how it should work.

My dealer told me if I bought an extra set of sensors (for summer/winter wheels) I would need to have them reprogram the computer. They said it costs $110.

My dealer does it free when they switch over my summer and winter tires.
