Winter tires for _OEM_ _19"_ rims?

Folks, I did a lot of search on the forum and found nothing on 19" winter tires for stock rims.

It has been repeated many times that it's best to go down a size for winter, and that one should get 18" rims, but this thread is about options for 19" size, so, anyone?

Or perhaps 18" is not just a better choice but the only choice?

Anyway, does this 19 to 18 downsize make THAT much of a difference, can anyone actually tell us from their experience?

Oh, by winter I mean fair amount of snow, slush, some ice and some dry salt

Thanks

with 18" your experience while going over pot-holes is much more pleasent then that on 19s. You dont want to ruin the finish on your stock 19s with all the salt slush and that good stuff..really your just better off with 18s my friend..plus with 19s, every season you will have to swap out your tires and get them re-balanced each time..major $ and pita in my oppinion..
