you want to powder coat or paint your rims there is no such thing a dying wheels, you can anodize it but you're going to waste a ton of money.

btw.. how much should powder coating cost approx.. a local dealer is asking for $800 to get all 4 of my rims powder coated.. he also claimed that the wheels have to be realigned and balanced n that this explains the high cost.. he's just ripping me off just coz he thinks im a newbie isnt he? haha

800 is a freaking ripoff. you can get about 65/wheel around here.

i spray paint my wheels, looks great so far. 2 coat of primer, 10 coat of paint, and 10 cost of clear coat.

i use to have an explorer and i powder coated the rims from chrome to black. never had any problems with chipping or flaking. very durable so i would highly recommend. i knew the guy very well that did mine and only paid $200 for all 4. size of the wheels were 22". i plan on doin the same with the stock 19s and he said he would charge me $150. i cant see anyone spending more then $300-$400 and that even seems very high IMO. hope this info helps ya out

"da hashi"'s stock wheels are painted gun metal/black. Search for his post on the pics.
