Tires

I will need to be replacing my tires here in the near future(16k miles). I'm not really concerned about performance just mainly saving that buck. What other options do I have besides the stock Potenzas?

I used the Kumho's on my old G35 when the stockers were all wore out. I like them. Good performance and thread wear for the money. I'd buy them them again (if I didn't have aftermarket wheels).

if you can find Falken's in the sizes you need, they're relatively cheap (compared to OE) and they actually perform well.

When i enter my car in tirerack the only tires that come up are potenza (stock). I do not want to pay 1 G for tires.

The stocks are 225/45/19 front and 245/40/19:

I have found the Kumho Ecsta SPT Blackwall
but they don't make a 225/45/19 only a 225/40/19($157 ea) for the front

and

they make a 245/40/19($173)
or a 245/45/19($157)

Now $600 for tires sounds a little more reasonable. Will the road noise be bad? Will these not last as long??

those would be fine. you wouldn't have any appreciable increase in roadnoise.

get 225/40/19 F and 245/40/19 R

DO NOT get larger pro's in the rear.

what you'll notice with this setup is that if your speedo says you're going 80, you're really going like 79ish.

Depends on how you drive on em. Some people have likely replaced there tires with less than 5000 miles on them, others have made it to almost 30,000. When the time comes, you will know. Check them every month or so when you check your tire pressure. If you don't know what you're doing, there are some guides online to help you to determine if it's time or not.

The Kumho's are fantastic tires. I've had three seperate sets on different vehicles and they've all been spot on. No flat spotting, uneven wear, vibration, or other issues that sometimes plague tires.

My biggest concern though is I wouldn't put 225/40's on the front. That's far too small a tire compared to stock. The proper tires for our car is a 245/40 or 225/45 up front and a 275/35 or 255/40 in the rear. Call Tirerack if you have any other questions. They'll guarentee that what they sell you will work and they now recommend the 285/35's on their website as optional rear fitment but that requires a new rim. Best of all, the Kumho's come in all of these sizes except the 225/45 and are still the tire to beat in a road test by another brand!

Another option is getting the stock Potenza's for cheaper than new from me! Here's my link to my ad in the classified's:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheel-and-tires/183200-fs-stock-bridgestone-sport-tires.html

Dealer take off's with no use. Just a thought....
