Wider tires do not cause a bigger wheel gap.

Technically, the widest tire you could put on a 8.5 inch rim is 275, but the safer alternative would be a 265.

Technically, the widest tire you could put on a 9 inch rim is 285, but the safer alternative would be a 275.

Putting a 275 on the front rims would be stupid IMO. The largest you should go on a 8.5 inch front rim is 245.

Nerrow up front wide on the back is the style I am looking for. Mostly want the wider rear for looks. The gap is a non issue if you keep your profile right it will look the same. Now what do you guys mean about the rim sticking out?. I know I don't want the tire to stick out past the fender. I just want the widest with out have it go past the fenders and stay on stock rims.

interesting, I didn't know they are rolled. That makes things easier.

From a previous post:
Put 275/35ZR-19s on original rear wheels
Thanks to those that helped when I was looking for a wider, more all season tire for the varied NC weather. Looked at many, settled with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for about $340 a tire. The grip is incredible and I do not feel in hard cornering as if the tire will fold. The look, as you can tell from the attached pixs, is great. Yeah I know I should have put 4 on now, but, hey, you can only do so much so quick.

I do notice a slight lowering in MPG. The speedometer is pretty true, only off by .4 MPH at 60 MPH.

This is the widest tire you can place on the rims. Believe me, I tried from every angle to go wider, but kept safety in mind.

Look at these pixs:

Cool good to know I get 66.6% off list on Michlins so once the summer were off on go the pilots. I run pilot apins now on both my maxima and G37. Pilot sports on the maxima in the summer. Thanks for that info.

Anyone do 305 on the rear and got pics?

Keep the OEM Tire and model. Put the current rears (245/40/19) on the front and put 275/35/19 on the back. This will maintain the correct tire heights, give you wider tires all around, improve your handling, and give you the wide tire look you are looking for. It will also reduce your out of pocket expenses because you are only buying two new tires.
