There's not a tire in the world you will get 40k miles on with a G37. You need to get a tire with the highest treadwear something above 380 more around 400 (harder rubber). Be happy to get 20k miles this isn't a mini-van!
Ok i just spent like 30 minutes reading tirerack.com info about tires. Go choose your tire (bridgestone potenza RE960) was the one i was looking at. Then Click specs. on the top of each SPEC it you can click the link and it tells you what this rating means. For example DiamondGCouple says get the highest treadwear. Normally i wouldn't know what the F he was talking about but since i just read this i can tell you that 400 means 4 times 7200 miles which is approx how long the tire will last (oh 400 was wat the bridgestone re960 was rated.) so yeah check out that tire, it is for all season (im here on the east coast so thats what im looking in to) Good luck.
DMX, first let me just say, thanks for actually Googling something and not asking WTF does that mean!?!
Having had several sets of 380, 400 TW tires on both of my previous cars, I can tell you that 4*7200 is a serious overstatement. Personally I would be more inclined to give it a 2-2.5 times 7200. The most miles I have ever achieved in a W or Z rated tire is around 18,000 and my tires were really bald in the back and were wearing in badly on the insides.
The only negative to the higher TW rated tires is that they will not provide as comfortable of a ride as a softer rubber tire and they will be a bit noisier as well.
If you are looking for a good, comfortable all season tire, I would go with the Michelin PS2s, these are the tires that used to come stock on the G35s with a rating of 230 or so which is a lot more than the G37s now (180). To anyone who hasn't had these types of tires on a car you've owned before, don't be surprised if you need to replace your tires after 12,000-15,000 miles. Do yourselves a favor and don't peel out, street race, tracks, sharp turns, driving faster than 80 on the highways, have your car aligned often for proper wear and for those who like to do donuts etc.., wait til you get a loaner! If not, I guarantee after you have to replace your tires you'll pay better attention to how you drive

If you want to play, you have to pay. Performance cars require performance tires or you might as well just have a Camry or Accord. Cars are better than motorcycles. I got 2600 mile out of the last rear tire on my MV Agusta.
