I qualify for Plan D. When I was reading over the math of the deal, it states the following:

Dealer Invoice
Minus: VPP Discount (Infiniti: 1.65%)
Plus: dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
Plus: 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
Plus: destination and handling charge
Minus: applicable incentives
-----
Equals: Participant's purchase price

-------------------------

For options I plan to add on to the G37 (sport/premium packages, spoiler), do I add that in at invoice price or MSRP? I am using edmunds.com as an invoice price point.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Dealer options would be something not offered directly by the manufacturer as an option. Sport, premium, etc are factored into the MSRP. A dealer option is something like LoJack, etc.

all that stuff on edmunds is factory items even the options so take the invoice price for model and then add the invoice price for the packadges then total it all up and that should be the invoice price to work into the formula and like iko said dealer options would be something like whee locks or the paint protect wax job for 395.00

Alright. So to clarify, add in the car itself + options I pick out (sport/premium/spoiler) all at invoice price? And THEN factor in the 1.65% VPP discount to get an "adjusted" price?

Also, would it be safe to just leave the dealer options (lojack, paint protect) at $0 if the car in stock has none of those options at the time I am negotiating?

yes...take the total of the invoice price then sub 1.65% then add dealer options (such as wheel locks) then add 2.5% of that and then add in the 715 des chrg.. that total should be (according to the plan D ) the final price..but then there is tax and title and registration fees which should be standard stuff to pay

I made a spreadsheet awhile back to calculate VPP for the car I plan on getting.

Invoice Prices:
Journey 32,184
Sport Pkg 1,595
Premium Pkg 2,757
Nav Pkg 1,896
Total Invoice 38,432

VPP D Plan:
Total Invoice 38,432
Minus 1.65% -634
Plus Dealer options 0
Plus 2.5% 945
Plus Destination Charge 715
Minus incentives 0
Total Purchase Price 39,458

....This might give you an idea of what to expect with VPP

How did you come up with your license and title figures? They seem a little low to me.

They look about right to me. These fees vary depending on where you live... like that exorbitant tax rate.

You think 6.25% tax rate is bad?....I'm looking at 7.75% here in SoCal. I'm also looking at about $600 for license and title.
