Bumping an old thread. Just saw some pics of a white 37 with a broken Vossen on FB. Anyone know anything about that?

Yeah Vossen is getting a lot of hate over that and it seems to be making them kinda nervous from what I can tell. I've heard a lot of positive things about Vossen's products and especially their customer service. Pictures of a few rims breaking doesn't really effect my opinion on them. These things happen don't they? I'm still planning on picking up a set of CV3s when I get some spare cash (as long as their CS continues to be as good as people say it is).

Any wheel can break under the right circumstances. That is why I am trying to find out what the real story is. Heard that Vossen is threatening to sue.

It was explained on V36 coupe drivers Facebook page what happened but sadly it was ignored. The offsets on the wheels were shaved and he sadly spun out in some wet weather where the vehicle and wheels were damaged. It is the owner's personal business that is sadly being used by the same group of anti-Vosssen people to slam Vossen. The owner is a really great guy that was in an unfortunate situation (how many of us have been in accidents??) and we decided as a company to offer him a courtesy of a new set of wheels to make the best out of his situation. We did not ask for the owner to share that information and we didn't feel the need to post about it until now.

It is perfectly fine to hate Vossen, dislike Vossen, wish Vossen was out of business. It is in poor taste to drag people into a hatefest who were in accidents, ignore the truth and depict the wheels as failures and spread propaganda to hurt a reputation.

The poor owner has been through enough and we wish him a speedy recovery from one auto enthusiast to the other.

Just wanted to add to this thread as well with the great customer service from Vossen. I found two of the front CV3's started showing hairline cracks near the spokes when I hit a really nasty pothole. I didn't notice them until about a month later (wheels were holding air perfectly fine and there were no vibrations from the steering wheel).

I called Vossen and talked to Diego and after I sent him a couple pics from my phone, without hesitation, he had shipped two replacement wheels for me along with some Vossen gear as extras. He even sent me pre-paid shipping labels for me to send the defective wheels back. Needless to say, Vossen definitely stands behind their product and are a great company to conduct business with.

That happened to be my car unfortunately, I was driving down a road up here in northern Florida where the roads are horrible and came up on a bend, it was raining earlier on in the day. when I was passing through the curb I hit something small on the road which happened to get my car air born a little and then smacked up against the curb

Yea there was a local guy I know who cracked his spokes on a set of used older Vossen cv1, he ended up just selling the 3 others for like 200 each.

Vossen has great CS and advertising and they are always standing behind their product. I just hope these wheels stop cracking or braking so no one gets hurt.

Please forgive my abject ignorance, but what the heck does this mean (the part I bolded)?

I don't know much about what happened, looks like minimal car damage but the wheel looks shot.

Danny the owner of the white G37 bought a set of used Vossen wheels that had the offsets shaved from a +42 offset to a +48 offset. Danny can quote me on this, I personally told him many times DO NOT purchase those wheels but after he did anyway I still encouraged him to get rid of those wheels because the fact that they were modified is never something we would recommend to do.

You guys are big for sending him a new set after that. I honestly don't know one other wheel company who would replace used/ modified wheels. Y'all get my vote for best service.

Thank you @RYs06MT. Danny is a great guy and a great car enthusiast and just like him or anyone else, we would go above and beyond for.

Thanks for the explanation. I can't possibly imagine why you'd replace wheels that someone intentionally modified in a way so as to make them unsafe. I hope trying to help someone out doesn't end up setting a bad precedent. Idiots do idiotic things to their Vossen wheels so that they fail and attempt to get Vossen to give them a new set of free wheels just to avoid people speaking poorly of the company. Rewarding irresponsible and stupid behavior (that you advised against in the first place).

Good luck with that.
